Welcome to The New School of Montpelier. We are a special education day school for Vermont’s unique learners, ages 6-22. The New School offers: – A high ratio of special education, related service personnel, and traditional subject teachers – Highly trained and supervised student supervisors – A welcoming environment For many of our students, this is the first time they feel part of their school community. At The New School (NSM) we combine best practices in specialized instruction and diverse learning strategies with a strong therapeutic component to promote academic achievement and social and emotional development. At NSM, we provide a safe and encouragingenvironment for students to form relationships,develop trust, gain life skills and the social competencies necessary to become successful learners and contributing members of their communities.
