Members 1st Credit Union is a member-owned financial institution chartered in 1957. If you live or work in Windham County, Vermont, or are an immediate relative of a current member, you are eligible to join our credit union. We are a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution that is owned and controlled by all of the people who use our services (called ‘members’). We exist to provide a safe, convenient place for members to sAvenue money and to get loans, debit and credit cards at reasonable rates. Like all cooperatives, we are based on the concept of “people helping people.” But unlike financial institutions that are operated for a profit, all income that our credit union generates from its operation is distributed as dividends or used to keep loan rates and fees as low as possible for our members.
