The owner/members created PT360 from the ground up with a solid foundation of committed owners. We knew we didn’t want any one person to assume the financial risk of opening aphysical therapy clinic. We wanted autonomy, we wanted to focus on our differences as they related to the group as a whole, We wanted to deliver healthcare unlike any of our competitors, we wanted to share in the financial risk, we wanted to play an active role in the community, and we wanted to take over the financial decisions (loss or gains) of our business. PT360 began as a group of 12 Owner/Members, Preferred Share Holders, and a Board of Directors, which consisted of 4 member/owners (3 of which are revolving positions lasting 2 years and the Director), and 3 outside professionals. In August 2010, PT360 opened its Burlington, Vermont (VT) office and started treating patients. In December 2010, PT360 opened itsWilliston, Vermont (VT) clinic and started treating patients. With ownership, we raised our practice standards to include volunteering 15 or more hours/month to community outreach; serving on a Board of Directors (non-paid) in the community; and having each Owner/Member establish and grow a medically directed exercise program within our clinic. The results were astonishing; we have tripled the Burlington clinic space in two years and moved into a new space in 2012, maxed out the Williston clinic, and developed a third clinic inShelburne, Vermont, which opened in September 2013. PT360 commitment to our patients and community at large: -As a cooperative, we have learned that we are Better Together, combining the strength, skills, and services of several therapists under one roof. -We have a vested interest in our patients and community unlike any clinic in the area. -We are very committed to our local community and offer free weekly senior fitness classes, Boot camps, Survive and Thrive, a free cancer survivorship program, Sugar X, diabetes management program, and Lyme disease rehabilitation in addition to our standard services. -We also participate and serve on Boards in the Community such as the Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Special Olympics, Burlington City Marathon, Vermont Dragonheart, Stowe Weekend of Hope, Vermont Employee Ownership Center, NDAA, Survivorship NOW, Eleanor B. Daniels Fund, Vermont Elder Resource Group, and Boys and Girls Club of Greater Burlington. -We have expanded our programs and offer punch cards for our salt-water pools to help defer some of our patients’ healthcare expenses and/or help patients to stretch out their limited number of visits. As our name indicates, we provide 360 degrees of care – prevention, rehabilitation, and facilitation of life-long health and wellness.
